Fresh Watermelon Smoothie (Dairy-free, Gluten-free, Vegan)
The Perfect Nutritious Summer Sipper! It’s such a refreshing and hydrating smoothie. Enjoy it for breakfast or an afternoon snack all summer long. Your kids will love it too! It combines fresh watermelon, frozen strawberries, banana, almond milk, and just a hint of fresh lime juice. Each smoothie has 144 calories and 2 grams of fat.

  • 1 cup fresh watermelon, cubed (black seeds removed if they have them)
  • ½ cup frozen strawberries, unsweetened, see shopping tips
  • ½ medium ripe banana (peeled, wrapped, and frozen)
  • cup unsweetened vanilla almond coconut milk or unsweetened vanilla almond milk, see shopping tips
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice (~½ medium lime)
  • 1 packet Truvia (Stevia)


  • Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until creamy and smooth. If desired, you can a little more frozen strawberries or ice to thicken.


Makes 1 smoothie (1⅓ cup). Can easily be doubled, tripled, and so on.
Healthy Benefits
Watermelon is a great source of pure water and an excellent diuretic.  Because of its high water content, watermelon is lower in calories than many other fruits.  It’s also packed with lycopene.
Shopping Tips
I used my very favorite almond milk. It’s Blue Diamond Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze (Almond Coconut Blend). I love the taste and it has only 40 calories a cup. Most supermarkets sell it in the refrigerated milk section. 
Most markets sell frozen strawberries. Always great to have on hand for smoothies. I usually buy them whole but you can use sliced.
Prep Tips
I always have frozen bananas in my freezer. So great to have on hand to add to smoothies, like this one. To Freeze: Peel banana, sliced in half, wrap with plastic wrap, and freeze.

  1. Sounds very yummy, but I believe this is 1 WW Freestyle Point, not 7. The fruit is all zero, and the almond milk is just 1 pt.

  2. Dava, fruit is usually Zero Points on Weight Watchers, but according to the WW Recipe Builder, the points count for drinks like juices or smoothies. If it’s something you’ll drink, like a juice or smoothie, fresh fruits and vegetables sadly count towards the total. Darn!
