Fresh Berries and Yogurt Crunch Parfait

I know you’ve heard breakfast is a must to start you’re day off right.  If you’re tired of the same old breakfast, try this scrumptious and skinny, yogurt parfait.  It consists of just three great-for-you ingredients.  The berries are perfect combined with sweet, creamy yogurt and crunchy bran cereal.  Many of the yogurt parfaits you’ll find in restaurants are not reduced in calories or fat. My skinny parfait has just 241 calories and 1 gram fat. Hat’s off to Starbucks and Mc Donald’s who both make parfaits with reduced-fat ingredients.  This parfait makes a delicious snack too.

Healthy Benefits

Low-fat and nonfat yogurt is acceptable to some people who generally have a lactose intolerance.  Yogurt is a wonderful source of calcium, vitamin B12, other B vitamins, and respectable amounts of magnesium and potassium.
Berries are packed with fiber and vitamin C.  They are all low in calories, fat and sodium.

Substitution Tip

I  love the combination of the 3 berries however this parfait taste great using just 1 variety.  Change the flavor of this parfait by changing the flavor of yogurt.  One day prepare with vanilla yogurt, the next, strawberry, peach or raspberry.  All will taste delicious.
