Starbucks Chai Latte Made Sugar-free and Dairy-free

For quite some time now, I’ve received numerous requests for me to recreate this yummy drink. Happily, here it is and it’s so simple and so good! If you’re not familiar with Starbucks Chai Latte, it’s black tea infused with wonderful spiced flavors like cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and cloves. I think you’ll love my healthy home version. I made it sugar-free and dairy-free by using unsweetened vanilla almond milk and Truvia (stevia) to sweeten it. I based my Skinny Facts that way. It’s so versatile you can use non-fat or reduced-fat milk and add your favorite sweetener, such as honey. Each Skinny Chai Latte (sugar-free, dairy-free) has only 31 calories and 2 grams of fat.

If you don’t own a hand held electric milk frother, no worries. See the shopping tips below. Or add warmed milk to a blender. Blend on high for about 30 seconds. An electric milk frother is much better than a blender but the blender will make your milk a bit frothy.
Shopping TipsTazo Chai Tea
My favorite brand of black tea to make this latte is Tazo Chai Organic It’s sold in most supermarkets and Target. It’s best to use 2 tea bags to make it a stronger brew. If you can’t find this brand there are others such as Stash Chai Spice Black Tea.
I used Blue Diamond unsweetened vanilla, almond coconut milk. Most supermarkets sell it in the refrigerated section where other milk is sold.
I suggest you buy an inexpensive handheld electric milk frother. I use mine all the time. Not just for this latte but for all my coffee lattes. There are many brands to buy at Amazon, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and such. I bought mine on Amazon. It cost only $8.99.
