My Remake of Coffee Bean’s Fabulous Ice Blended® Vanilla Drink

Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf was the first company back in the 1980s to create these amazing ice blended drinks. Now they’re all the rage…Sweet, rich tasting, icy cold and very refreshing! It’s a sophisticated grown-up milkshake where you can get a jolt of caffeine in every cup. I especially love their vanilla one. My skinny (12 oz) remake has 111 calories, 2grams of fat and 3 Weight Watchers POINTS PLUS. Cut the POINTS PLUS to 2 by leaving off the light whipped cream…Have fun skinny sipping!!!
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients for Vanilla Ice Blended Drink:
⅓ cup double-strength regular or decaf coffee, chilled, see prep tip
⅓ cup nonfat milk
1 tablespoon Jello instant vanilla pudding (the dry pudding mix in a box)
2 packages Stevia, Truvia, Splenda or Equal or your favorite sugar substitute
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
1⅓ cups ice
Ingredients for Topping:
¼ cup light whipped cream (from a can)

1. Combine chilled coffee, milk, dry pudding, Stevia, vanilla and ice in a blender. Blend on high speed until ice is crushed and drink is smooth. You might need to stop the blender and mix a bit or shake the blender to loosen mixture.
2. Pour into a glass. Top with ¼ cup light whipped cream, if desired
3. Serve at once with a straw, if desired
Makes 1 (12 oz) drink (1½ cup)
Food Fact
s
In the 1980s the world’s first cold blended coffee drink (as opposed to shaken, stirred or served over ice) was created at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®. It was created by some of their employees. Company founder, Herbert B. Hyman, perfected it. It was an instant hit and the rest as they say is history!
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® has over 250 company owned stores and numerous franchises.

Thanks for sharing this recipe! My grandkidlets LOVE Starbucks Milk Frappuccino & this sounds like it would be very similar.
Just to clarify, are you using Sugar Free Jell-O pudding? If not, wouldn’t that bring down the point value even more?

I’m using (regular) instant vanilla pudding. If you used sugar free it would be less points. I haven’t tried it that way but I bet it would still taste pretty good. Good luck. Hope your grandkids love it!

I just want to tell you that you saved my life! Instant vanilla pudding did just the trick…all I was getting was a slushy with the ice separating from the rest of the drink. I just made a salted caramel mocha based on your recipe, and it was fantastic. Thank you!

That’s such great news Tracy! I’m so happy you love my instant pudding trick.
