My Favorite Store Bought Reduced-fat Salad Dressings…

Print Friendly

For years I was completely disappointed in the reduced-fat salad dressings sold in supermarkets.  They often tasted medicinal or simply unpleasant and I felt better off using a small amount of a high-fat dressing, or giving up on taste and using vinegar or fresh-squeezed lemon juice.  Out of frustration, I ultimately created my own line of reduced-fat dressings.  These dressings were used in my restaurant, Nancy’s Healthy Kitchen and sold in many supermarkets in southern California.  Years later, I wrote a salad dressing book, Nancy’s Healthy Kitchen Reduced-Fat Salad Dressings Book.  It’s available at http://www.skinnykitchen.com/recipes/nancys-healthy-kitchen-reduced-fat-salad-dressings-book/.

Now, I’m happy to say, I’ve tasted and used many delicious reduced-fat bottled dressings sold in supermarkets. I’m sharing some of my favorites.

Have you tried Trader Joe’s Raspberry Gorgonzola Walnut Salad Dressing? It’s not a specifically “low cal” salad dressing but has about the same calorie count as these. It’s just delicious.
